What is low-dose naltrexone (LDN)?

Naltrexone is an oral medication typically dosed at 50 mg, traditionally intended for use in opioid and alcohol use disorders. Many recent studies focus on the off-label use of naltrexone in lower doses to treat types of pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome, and diabetic neuropathy. When taken in lower doses, naltrexone is processed differently through the nervous system and acts as a form of relief from inflammatory diseases.
